Essentials ..and Peripherals of a Home Library

Decorating a home library is easier than most rooms. Arguably, there are several  essential items that are that are fundamental to the creation of a home library: books,bookshelves and comfortable seating. The rest is peripheral. So what makes libraries special? That rare ming vase serving as a bookend..or that centuries old leather chair replete with antique  scent, that roaring wood burning fire in the center of the room? One thing is for sure, whatever it is a home library wouldn't be the same without it.

Among the list of spaces which my dream home will posses, is an inviting, non-pretentious library with large windows to allow for reading into dusk and enough shelving for my random collection.

I love the blue and white color scheme because it retains that familiar masculine aura of a library
